2018 Quad County Hay Show

Producers from each county can submit hay samples to their Extension Office. Cost is $5.00 per sample; 1/4 feed sack of hay is needed per sample. Make sure you tag each sample with name, phone number, what cutting and place or meadow the sample came from. Deadline for submitting samples is Thurs-day, October 11. Even if you do not enter the hay show you are encouraged to attend this meeting. Topics to be discussed are Economics of producing Hay and Winter Pasture Planting possibilities.

2018 Cow Country Congress

Cow Country Congress is October 19, 2018 and registration is NOW OPEN!!
We hope you make plans to attend as this will be a unique CCC for us. It will be held at Triple Sons Farms, located at Triple Sons Farms, Centerville. Paul DuFrene and his family have a great operation and a unique story. The day’s topics will include: Low Stress Cattle Handling with Dogs, Disaster Planning for both the beef herd and for forages, Cattle Development – Genetics & Geography, Heifer Selection, and a legislative update from State Representative Trent Ashby.
The best Beef Cattle Specialists will be on hand to deliver the education. We look forward to Dr. Ron Gill, Dr. Joe Pascal, and Dr. Jason Cleere sharing their knowledge on these topics.

We will also have the fortune of having a special Cajun Lunch! Paul Dufrene and his crew will fix up a mess of some of the best Cajun food there is around! As the menu is finalized, I will let you know so you can be sure to bring your appetite!
